How can spout bags ensure that their quality is maintained during long-term storage?

Publish Time: 2025-01-21
Spout bags are a common packaging bag that is widely used in the packaging of food, beverages, cosmetics and other products. In order to ensure that the quality of spout bags is maintained during long-term storage, it is necessary to consider many aspects such as material selection, production process, sealing performance, storage environment and usage methods.

1. Material selection

High barrier materials: The inner and outer materials of spout bags should be selected with high barrier properties, such as polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polyester (PET), aluminum foil, etc. These materials can effectively block the penetration of oxygen, moisture, light and other harmful gases, and protect the quality of the contents.

Antistatic materials: In some products that are sensitive to static electricity, spout bags should use antistatic materials to prevent static electricity from absorbing dust and impurities and affecting the quality of the products.

Food-grade materials: For products that directly contact the human body, such as food and medicines, spout bags should use food-grade materials to ensure that the materials are non-toxic and harmless.

2. Production process

Multi-layer composite structure: Spout bags usually use a multi-layer composite structure, and different material layers are tightly combined by adhesives. The multi-layer composite structure can enhance the barrier performance and mechanical strength of the bag, ensuring the quality under long-term storage.

Precision printing technology: The printing layer should adopt precision printing technology to ensure that the printed pattern is clear and durable, and will not affect the barrier performance of the inner layer. At the same time, the printing ink should choose environmentally friendly and non-toxic materials.

High-quality nozzle material: The nozzle material should choose durable and well-sealed materials, such as silicone, TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane), etc. The nozzle should have good elasticity to ensure the sealing performance for multiple uses.

3. Sealing performance

Heat sealing edge technology: The edge of the spout bag should adopt high-temperature heat sealing technology to ensure the sealing and durability of the edge. The strength and width of the heat sealing edge should meet the relevant standards to prevent leakage during storage and transportation.

Nozzle design: The nozzle should be designed reasonably to ensure that it can be completely sealed in a closed state to prevent the penetration of air and moisture. The opening and closing of the nozzle should be smooth to avoid jamming or damage.

Multiple seals: For products with high requirements, spout bags can adopt multiple seal designs, such as double heat-sealed edges or self-sealing strips combined with heat-sealed edges, to further enhance the sealing effect.

4. Storage environment

Temperature control: spout bags should be stored in an environment with suitable temperature to avoid the influence of high or low temperature on materials and contents. Generally, the storage temperature should be controlled between 15-25℃.

Humidity control: The humidity of the storage environment should be controlled at 50-60%RH to prevent the high humidity environment from causing moisture absorption of materials or deterioration of contents. Desiccant can be used to reduce the humidity in the storage environment.

Storage away from light: spout bags should be stored in a light-proof environment to prevent light from oxidizing and degrading materials and contents. It is recommended to use light-shielding materials or black packaging boxes for storage.

Good ventilation: The storage environment should be well ventilated to prevent harmful gases in the air from affecting materials and contents. Check the storage environment regularly to ensure air quality.

5. Usage

Open and close correctly: When using a spout bag, the nozzle should be opened and closed correctly to avoid forcible pulling or damage to the nozzle. When closing, ensure that the nozzle is completely sealed to prevent the entry of air and moisture.

Expel air: Before sealing, the air in the bag should be exhausted as much as possible to reduce the oxygen content in the bag and extend the shelf life of the product. This can be achieved by squeezing or using a vacuum sealer.

Avoid secondary contamination: After opening the spout bag, the contents should be used as soon as possible to avoid prolonged exposure to the air. After use, the nozzle should be sealed immediately to prevent secondary contamination.

By selecting high-barrier materials, optimizing production processes, ensuring sealing performance, controlling storage environments, standardizing usage methods, and regular inspection and maintenance, spout bags can effectively maintain their quality under long-term storage. Whether in the packaging of food, beverages, cosmetics or other sensitive products, these measures can ensure the reliability of the spout bag and the quality of the contents, extending the shelf life and service life of the product.
